Cefroxadine (CGP 9000) is an orally activecephalosporinantibiotic. Cefroxadine is more effective than cephalexin againstEscherichia coliandKlebsiella pneumoniaewithMICvalues of 3.13 and 1.56 μg/mL respectively with a concentration of 10⁶μg/mL. Cefroxadine can be used for the research ofinfection^[1].

(In Vitro)

Cefroxadine (10⁶-10⁸μg/mL; overnight) shows antibacterial activities againstS. aureus,E. coli,S. typhi,S. paratyphi,S. schottmuelleri,K. apneumoniaeandP. mirabiliswith MIC values of 1.56, 3.31, 1.56, 1.56, 1.56, 1.56 and 6.25 μg/mL respectively with a concentration of 10⁶μg/mL^[1]. Cefroxadine (10⁴-10⁸μg/mL; overnight) shows antibacterial activities against 100E. colistrains with MIC₅₀and MIC₇₅values of 4.8-11.5 μg/mL and 6-20 μg/mL, respectively^[1].

体内研究
(In Vivo)

Cefroxadine (0-30 mg/kg; p.o. 0 and 3 h after infection) shows a better effect than cephalexin in vivo^[1].

Dosage:	0-30 mg/kg
Administration:	Oral gavage; 0-30 mg/kg; 0 and 3 h after infection
Result:	Showed a better effect than cephalexin in vivo with ED₅₀values of 21.4 and 10.9 mg/kg forE. coliML4707 andK. pneumoniaeGN6445 in vivo.
