DPPH is a stable free radical that is permeable to cells. The role of DPPH is to assess the compound's ability to act as a free radical scavenger or hydrogen donor and measure the antioxidant activity of tissue extracts[1]. DPPH can react with antioxidants or reducing compounds to form DPPH2, and then the color changes from purple (absorbance at 515-528 nm) to yellow[2-4].
