产品描述 | Blasticidin S HCl is an antibiotic inhibiting protein synthesis [1]. Blasticidin S is isolated from Streptomyces griseochromogenes and inhibits protein synthesis in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Blasticidin S HCl is an antibiotic inhibiting protein synthesis. In mouse leukemia L5178Y cells, blasticidin S inhibited protein synthesis and caused the degradation of presumptive mRNA [1]. Also, blasticidin S inhibited ribonuclease P activity from Dictyostelium discoideum and inhibited tRNA maturation in a dose dependent way [2]. In S. cerevisiae, blasticidin S inhibited protein synthesis induced by galactose. In Aspergillus parasiticus, blasticidin S inhibited aflatoxin production without inhibition of fungal growth. In Aspergillus flavus, blasticidin S significantly reduced aflatoxin biosynthetic enzymes [3]. Blasticidin S efficiently bound Cu2+ ions and protected DNA from metal-induced damage [4]. Blasticidin S enhanced the binding of tRNA to the P site of the large ribosomal subunit and slowed spontaneous intersubunit rotation. Blasticidin S inhibited peptide bond formation and peptidyl-tRNA hydrolysis [5]. References: |
