Isorhoifolin is a flavonoid glycoside and an aglycone form of apigenin that has been found inM. longifoliaand has diverse biological activities.^1,2,3It inhibits matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1), MMP-3, and MMP-13 (IC₅₀s = 0.33, 2.45, and 0.22 µM, respectively).¹Isorhoifolin has antimutagenic properties in theE. coliWP2 tryptophan reverse mutation assay when used at a concentration of 2 µM.²It is active againstS. aureusandP. aeruginosa, but notE. coliorC. albicans, in agar diffusion assays when used at a concentration of 140 µg/ml.³
