OPDA, formerly known as 12-oxo PDA or 12-Oxo-Phytodienoic acid, is an endogenous signal transducer. OPDA increases alkaloid biosynthesis in E. californica cell cultures, increases tendril coiling of B. dioica, and suppresses jasmonic acid-induced programmed cell death in a conditional A. flu mutant.
