ACTR3C (Actin Related Protein 3C) is located on human chromosome 7q36.1. The ACTR3C protein is ubiquitously expressed in brain, adrenal and other tissues. Structurally, the encoded protein is reported to be 23712 Da in mass. An important paralog of this gene is ACTR3B. 2 organisms have orthologs with human gene ACTR3C. ACTR3C is related to Yersinia infection and Tight junction. ACTR3C is also related to actin binding. ACTR3C may play a role in the suppression of metastatic potential in lung adenoma carcinoma cells.
