ZNF799 (Zinc Finger Protein 799) is located on human chromosome 19p13.2. The ZNF799 protein is ubiquitously expressed in placenta, endometrium and other tissues. Structurally, the encoded protein is reported to be 74288 Da in mass. The ZNF799 (also known as HIT-40; ZNF842) gene is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, mouse, and rat. 3 organisms have orthologs with human gene ZNF799. ZNF799 may be involved in transcriptional regulation. ZNF799 is associated with some diseases, such as Spondylolisthesis. Among its related pathways are Gene Expression and Herpes simplex virus 1 infection. ZNF799 is related to nucleic acid binding. An important paralog of this gene is ZNF443.
