Laminaran is a beta-(1-3)-linked D-glucan with .BETA.-(1-6) linkages. The major M-series contains 20-30 glucosyl residues linked to terminal mannitol, and a minor G-series with 22-28 glucosyl residues. There is a 3 to 1 ratio of M-series to G-series molecules.
