Niguldipine, formerly known as B-859-35; BY-935; B-8509-035, is a calcium channel antagonist potentially for the treatment of hypertension. Niguldipine binds with very high affinity to Ca2+ channels and to a subtype of alpha 1-adrenoceptors. Niguldipine impairs the protective activity of carbamazepine and phenobarbital in amygdala-kindled seizures in rats.
