背景信息：

ZSCAN18 (Zinc Finger And SCAN Domain Containing 18) is located on human chromosome 19q13.43. The ZSCAN18 protein is ubiquitously expressed in brain, endometrium and other tissues. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 54804 Da in mass. ZSCAN18 is related to nucleic acid binding and DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific. ZSCAN18 may be involved in transcriptional regulation. An important paralog of this gene is ZNF446.
