背景信息：
IRAP（也称作 LNPEP) 最初被描述为是一种含有 Glut4 的囊泡中存在的胰岛素反应性氨基肽酶 (1)。它基本上总是与 Glut4 处于相同区室并且具有与 Glut4 相同的胰岛素刺激的转位模式 (2)。因此 IRAP被认为 是 Glut4 的替代标记物 (2)。之后发现 IRAP 是调节几种必需激素和调节蛋白（包括 Glut4 转运蛋白）的表达和活性的关键酶 (3,4)。这种膜相关、锌依赖性半胱氨酰氨基肽酶可充当血管紧张素 IV 的受体以及将这种必需激素从其血管紧张素前体催化合成的酶 (5)。IRAP 催化几种肽激素（包括催产素和加压素）的水解 (4)。IRAP 表达或活性异常与人类中几种形式的癌症（包括肾癌和子宫内膜癌）相关 (6,7)。
