背景信息：
类 Kruppel 因子 (KLF) 是一个锌指 DNA 结合蛋白家族，它们与果蝇 Kruppel 转录因子具有同源性 (1)。这些转录调节分子在细胞增殖、分化、炎症以及多能性中起到不同作用 (2)。各种 KLF（包括 KLF5）与上皮-间质细胞转换 (EMT)、侵袭以及转移等癌症相关进程有关 (3-6)。此外，研究表明，对肾集合管上皮细胞具有特异性的 KLF5 缺陷会有损由心脏和肾脏协调的心脏应激适应性反应 (7)。
