Background:
Adipoyl coenzyme A (adipoyl-CoA) is a medium-chain acyl CoA and an intermediate in the peroxisomal β-oxidation of dicarboxylic acids.1 It is also an intermediate in the biosynthesis of adipic acid in genetically modified E. coli.2
