Background:
15-keto Prostaglandin E2-d4(15-keto PGE2-d4) is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of 15-keto PGE2by GC- or LC-MS. 15-keto PGE2is a metabolite of PGE2formed by 15-hydroxy PGDH.1,2In vivo, 15-keto PGE2is essentially inactive. 15-keto PGE2has reduced affinity for the EP2and EP4receptors (Kis = 2,600 and 15,000 nM, respectively) compared to PGE2(Kis = 53 and 7.3 nM for the EP2and EP4receptors, respectively).3
