Background:

Isoreserpiline is an indole alkaloid that has been found inR. tetraphyllaand has diverse biological activities.^1,2It has a synergistic effect on the antibacterial activity induced by nalidixic acid in nalidixic acid-sensitive and -resistant strains ofE. coli.²It also reduces amphetamine-induced hyperactivity in mice when administered at a dose of 25 mg/kg.¹
