Background:

Phenoxazine is a heterocyclic building block.¹It has been used in the synthesis of phenoxazine derivatives that have anticancer and antimicrobial activitiesin vitro.^2,3Phenoxazine has also been used in the synthesis of phenoxazine derivatives used as chromogenic substrates.⁴
