Background:
Sesquicillin A is a fungal metabolite that has been found inAlbophoma.1It inhibits the growth ofA. salinabrine shrimp (MIC = 6.25 µg/ml). Sesquicillin is cytotoxic to Jurkat cells (IC50= 34 µM). It induces cell cycle arrest at the G1phase and inhibits proliferation of MCF-7 breast cancer cells when used at a concentration of 20 µg/ml.2
