It has been used in the study of liposome membrane dynamics using spectrophotometry and FRET. DOPE-CF has also been used in the synthesis of IL-10-targeted PEGylated liposomes and silica microsphere supported lipid bilayers (µSLBs) for detection in fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry, respectively.
