Nigakinone is a naturally occuring alkaloid isolated from the wood of Picrasma excelsa (Jamaican quassiawood and Chinses Kumu). Nigakinone is one of the major alkaloids responsible for the pharmacological activities of Kumu. It acts as an NSAID that may be useful in treating ulcerative colitis.
