Angustmycin A is a nucleoside-analogue inhibitor of GMPS (guanosine monophosphate synthase) produced by Streptomyces hygroscopius that efficiently suppresses melanoma cell invasion in vitro and tumorigenicity in immunocompromised mice. Angustmycin A may be used as an anti-melanoma agent when considering GMPS as a driver of melanoma.
