Liqcoumarin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydroxycoumarins. These are coumarins that contain one or more hydroxyl groups attached to the coumarin skeleton. Liqcoumarin exists as a solid and is considered to be practically insoluble (in water) and relatively neutral. Within the cell, liqcoumarin is primarily located in the cytoplasm. Outside of the human body, liqcoumarin can be found in herbs and spices and tea. This makes liqcoumarin a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
