Veratric acid (3,4-Dimethoxybenzoic acid) is an orally bioavailable phenolic compound derived from vegetables and fruits, has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Veratric acid also acts as a protective agent against hypertension-associated cardiovascular remodelling.
