Fluoxetine (Lilly110140; LY-110140; Pulvules, Eufor, Portal) is a potent selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) at the neuronal membrane, it is used in the treatment of depression. It is also used for the treatment of obsessive–compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa, panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Fluoxetine may decrease the risk of suicide in those over the age of 65. Fluoxetine has also been used to treat premature ejaculation. It is taken by mouth.
