Emicerfont is an antagonist of the corticotropin-releasing factor type 1 receptor (IC50: 66 nM).

Emicerfont (10 mg/kg) treatment, decreases i.c.v. CRF-induced gerbil forepaw treading and marmoset defensive postures. Emicerfont (30 mg/kg) treatment, also reduces rat pup ultrasonic vocalization.
