Alstonine is an indole alkaloid. Alstonine attenuates MK-801-induced hyperlocomotion, working memory deficit and social withdrawal. Alstonine also possesses anxiolytic-like effects, attenuates amphetamine-induced lethality and stereotypy as well as apomorphine-induced stereotypy, and attenuates haloperidol-induced catalepsy.
