Proglumide hemicalcium is a nonpeptide and orally bioavailable cholecystokinin (CCK)-A/B receptors antagonist. Proglumide hemicalcium specific blocks CCK’s effects in the central nervous system (CNS). Proglumide hemicalcium has ability to inhibit gastric secretion and to protect the gastroduodenal mucosa.
