Campesterol is a plant sterol withcholesterollowering and anticarcinogenic effects.

Campesterol shows a weak cytotoxicity in non-proliferating human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Within the non-cytotoxic concentration range, campesterol significantly inhibits the bFGF-induced proliferation and tube formation of HUVECs in a concentration-dependent manner, while it does not affect the motility of HUVECs. 50 μg/mL of campesterol decreases the cell viability up to about 56% of control(IC₅₀of over 50 μg/mL)^[1].

Campesterol effectively disrupts the bFGF-induced neovascularization in chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM)in vivo^[1].

  以 1 mL 工作液为例，取 100 μL 9.1 mg/mL 的澄清 EtOH 储备液加到 400 μL PEG300 中，混合均匀；向上述体系中加入50 μL Tween-80，混合均匀；然后继续加入 450 μL生理盐水定容至 1 mL。
