Laurotetanine ((+)-Laurotetanine) is an potent and orally active isoquinoline alkaloid and could be extracted from the roots ofLitsea cubeba (Lour.) Pers. Laurotetanine exerts an anti-asthmatic effect by inhibition ofIgE, histamine, and inflammatory reactions via down-regulatingMUC5ACandNF-κBsignaling pathways^[1].

体内研究
(In Vivo)

Laurotetanine ((+)-Laurotetanine; 20-60 mg/kg; p.o.; 每天，持续 21 天; SD 大鼠) 通过下调 MUC5AC 和 NF-κB 信号通路发挥抗哮喘作用。

Animal Model:	Sprague Dawley (SD) rats (180-220g)^[1]
Dosage:	20, 40, and 60 mg/kg
Administration:	Oral administration; daily, for 21 days
Result:	Reduced inflammatory cells, including eosinophils, neutrophils, lymphocytes, and macrophages. Decreased inflammatory cytokines viz IL-4, IL-6, IL-13 and increased IFN-γ. Reduced serum IgE and histamine. Decreased MUC5AC expression and increased NF-κB and IκB expression in lung tissues.
