DIMBOA, anantibiotic, is a benzoxazinoid, part of the chemical defense system of graminaceousplantssuch as maize, wheat, and rye. DIMBOA possess growth inhibitory properties against many strains of studiedbacteriaandfungi, such asStaphylococcus aureus,Escherichia colias well as againstSaccharomyces cerevisiae.
