GERMANIUM(II) IODIDE is soluble in cold water, concentrated hydroiodic acid and dilute acid, slightly soluble in chloroform and carbon tetrachloride, insoluble in carbon disulfide, and decomposed in hot water.It hydrolyzes in wet air and is stable in dry air. Imine germanium is formed in ammonia solution. Germanium diiodide is slightly soluble in cold hydroiodic acid and is very soluble when heated, so it can be recrystallized. Sublimation at 240 ℃ in vacuum.
