性质描述:

无色针状或菱形结晶。熔点97-99℃，沸点283-285℃， 148-150℃（1.07kPa），闪点149℃。溶于水、乙醇和乙醚。溶于稀盐酸后与稀氯酸钾溶液共热呈淡紫色，在空气中其水溶液易变为褐色。

生产方法:

由对硝基甲苯用混酸硝化得2,4-二硝基甲苯，然后用铁粉还原得粗品，再经浓缩、蒸馏得成品。原料消耗定额：对硝基甲苯1600kg/t、硫酸（98%）1616kg/t、硝酸（98%）760kg/t、铁粉（90%）2700kg/t。

用途:

有机合成中间体。用于生产甲苯二异氰酸酯，染料毛皮黑DB、硫化黄棕5G、硫化黄棕6G、硫化红棕B3R等。制成的染料可使皮毛、头发直接氧化成黑色。
